You get 30, 35 or 40 intensive private Dutch lessons a week,

If you are living alone or with a Dutch-speaking partner, and if you have the necessary self-discipline, non-residential weeks may certainly suffice.

The most efficient standard program (see testimonies) is the residential full immersion Dutch week,  from Monday to Friday, 6 intensive private Dutch lessons a day.

Residential weeks and weekends differ from non-residential weeks by the number of hours of conversation (= full immersion)

and of course the opportunity to 'retreat' and be busy learning Dutch only.

During full immersion weeks you get the opportunity to meet as a dinner guest people involved in local socio-cultural life.

This is most useful if your goal is not only to learn Dutch but also to understand Dutch culture and the difference between Anglophone and Dutch mentalities.
